2017 Europa Nostra Awards

On April 5, the European Commission and Europa Nostra announced the winners of the 2017 European Union Cultural Heritage/Europa Nostra Awards.  Like every year, the winners have been rewarded for their exemplary achievements in the categories of conservation, research, special dedication to heritage, education, training and awareness. Spain has been strongly represented in these awards since their first addition in 1978.  This year, two Spanish projects are listed among the winners: the rehabilitation of the Cap Enderrocat Fortress in Llucmajor (Balearic Islands), and the Roof of the ruins of the San Juan Monastery in Buros. These are two projects that propose innovative ways to revitalize and reuse these monuments with respect to the traditional constructive techniques and the historic pre-existence. Kalam would like to congratulate all the winners.
