In Kalam we feel Social Responsibility is an important part of our job. Since the establishment of the company, we have dedicated some of the fruits of our efforts to social and cultural interests as specified in our statutes. We feel that the fulfillment of our direct responsibilities in our sector, does not exempt from other commitments.

One of the well-developed lines of work regarding this responsibility, is our involvement in sponsoring cultural, social and environmental project; in an active commitment to the maintenance and promotion of the principles, criteria, standards and values that define our business philosophy. This includes:

  • ATYME Foundation: we believe in mediation and we participate as founding patrons.
  • Spanish Association for the Protection of the Architectural Heritage of the twentieth century (AEPPAS 20). We strongly support this Association and we sponsored the completion of the ICOMOS International Conference, at which the Madrid Document was approved; where the intervention on Criteria are set out for the intervention in the Architectural Heritage of the Twentieth Century, agreed upon world class experts.
  • ICOMOS: ”Kalam with Heritage” Scholarships, helped architecture experts attend the 19th General Assembly held in Florence, Italy, in November 2014.
  • Awards in technical or art schools.
  • Collaborations with museums and foundations.
  • PHI project. Ibero-American Cultural and Historical Heritage. Kalam serves as the Technical Secretary for the International Network, and has supported it from its fortunate creation, with scholarships through the Polytechnic University of Madrid, in its efforts to spread the experience of the practice of historic preservation, and through PHI’s continued initiatives, convinced of the importance and reach of their work in defense of Ibero-American Heritage.
  • Collaboration agreement with INTBAU (International Network that promotes Traditional Building, Architecture, and Urbanism).
  • Collaboration agreement with the Richard H. Driehaus Foundation, which supports the preservation and improvement of built and natural environments.
  • Collaboration with Duoc-UC (non-profit private college in Chile)
  • In-house projects implemented with artists for the Vicente Ferrer Foundation.
  • Macro Exhibition of Earth from Above, sponsorship of events and direct action with social interest associations.
  • Organization of jazz concerts at the Carlos Antwerp Foundation.
  • Collaboration with the Project Tapones para una nueva vida, of the Seur Foundation.
  • Collaboration agreement with the APADUAM Foundation of the Universidad Autónoma of Madrid.
  • Participation in cultural projects of Hometown Associations (HTAs).
  • In-house activities developed to merge with the Fine Arts through thematic projects.
