We were tasked by Goa Invest to restore the interiors and facades of the house and studio of the painter Ramón Casas in Passeig de Gràcia, designed in 1899 by the architect Antoni Rovira i Rabassa, to adapt it for retail use while preserving its historic value. Our teams had to be closely coordinated so as to meet the project goals and deadlines according to guidelines of rigor, quality, safety, and efficiency in restoring the beauty of the building’s interior, with work on every artistic and craft feature such as sgraffito plaster, Mújica ceilings, and woodwork – recreating the original hardwood colors – mosaic floors, gilt cornice moldings, an arcade with Solomonic columns, the main staircase, and the ornate stone fireplace, among other features. We also restored the inner facade that shares the core of the block with that of Gaudí’s Casa Milà (La Pedrera).
