Islamic Hall, Toledo, Spain

Historic City of Toledo (Recognition as UNESCO World Heritage Site, 1986)

For the Consortium of the City of Toledo, masonry was structurally consolidated and the rooms in the Islamic Hall of the Maid’s Shed were refurbished for museum purposes. The archaeological excavations carried out resurfaced Visigoth and Muslim remains, which were exposed once the intervention was completed. Additionally, plasterwork from the Fifteenth and Sixteenth Centuries was restored, as well as the wooden patio beams dating from the Thirteenth Century and decorated with carved Kufic calligraphy and geometrical patterns with vegetal background.
