Opening of the call for Getty Foundation’s “Keeping it Modern 2020” grants
The call for projects submission for the Getty Foundation’s “Keeping it Modern 2020” grants has been opened, an initiative with 6 years track and 64 funded projects that ends with this 2020 edition of the international competition.
“Keeping it Modern” rewards actions aimed at the conservation of modern architecture and non-profit organizations from all over the world that carry out conservation projects for significant 20th century buildings. There are two types of grants such as “Planning grants” for planning and research on outstanding elements of modern architecture and “Implementation grants” for exceptional conservation projects that may serve as example for the preservation of modern heritage.
In order to apply, an inquiry letter must be sent before 2nd December 2019, followed by the registration and proposal submission during the first quarter of 2020. Winners will be notified in June 2020. Further information on documentation and deadlines is available on the Getty Foundation website.
Winners of last edition “Keeping it Modern 2019” have also been announced, including the Buzludzha monument in Bulgaria, the Torino Esposizioni fair complex in Italy, the Beira train station in Mozambique, the Villa E-1027 in France, the Manuel Belgrano School of Commerce in Argentina, or the Hall of the Universidad Laboral de Cheste in Spain.
