The EKABA Foundation is collaborating with the celebration of the International Seminar on …

On November 7th and 8th, the International Seminar on Reconstruction of Cultural Heritage will be held at the School of Architecture of the Polytechnic University of Madrid, organized by INTBAU and the Rafael Manzano Award for New Traditional Architecture with the collaboration of, among others, our EKABA Foundation (the Kalam Space for Fine Arts).

The conferences will deal with the importance of knowledge of traditional construction and architecture for the restoration and reconstruction of our cultural heritage.  They are held within the framework of the European Year of Cultural Heritage and are intended to be a meeting place for students, teachers and professionals in this field.

At Kalam, we want to support these kind of initiatives through our foundation, necessary to maintain the awareness of our professionals and future professionals on the importance of knowledge and proper conservation of the magnificent heritage we all share.

The Rafael Manzano Award, the organizer of this international seminar with INTBAU, is convened annually and is intended to spread the value of traditional architecture as a benchmark of proven validity for the architecture of our time in the territorial scope of Spain and Portugal. It recognizes architects who, throughout their careers, have contributed their work to the conservation, continuation and adaptation to contemporary needs in construction, architecture and urban development in those places in which they are involved.  It is a great way to reward those architects who opt for this branch of the profession, full of complexities and conditioning factors.
