Alcazar of Segovia, Spain
Restoration of the facades and walls of the south side of the iconic Alcázar fortress in Segovia. Designated a historic and artistic monument in 1931, it was declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO together with the city of Segovia in 1985. Stonework, masonry, and consolidation tasks were performed on its walls with removal of damaged coatings and restoration of materials. Joints were repointed and renders and sgraffito applied using traditional lime mortars pigmented in situ, matching the original colors. As ever, all the tasks were undertaken by our own specialist staff.
