Altarpiece of the Church of San Pablo, Zaragoza, Spain,

The project consists of the recovery of the doors that concealed Damian Forment’s 16th century altarpiece during certain liturgical periods. The doors were built in 1524 and dismantled in the 80’s of the last century. The structure was made by Juan Bierto, and the paintings by Antonio Galcerán and Jerónimo de Mora. Each of the doors consisted of two polychrome canvases on the front and two grisaille paintings on the back. They remained open all year round except during Lent, when they were closed to see only the black and white scenes. The intervention includes the construction and assembly of the frames, and the restoration of the oil and grisaille canvases that decorated the front and back.
