Work to conserve and restore the beauty of the facades of this building in Calle Antonio Maura, central axis of Madrid’s Jerónimos district, connecting Plaza de la Lealtad with the Puerta de España gate to the Retiro park. The brick walls were blasted with micronized silica and then consolidated and sealed for water repellence. Cornices, lintels, corbels, and balcony fronts were restored and secured with bars impregnated with thixotropic resin inserted into drill holes. Zinc flashing was fitted on all jutting parts and silicate paint was applied to ornamental features.
