Archbishop’s Palace, Alcalá de Henares, Spain

This 13th-century edifice was the residence of the archbishops of Toledo. It shows a medley of styles, such as Mudéjar, Renaissance, and Baroque, with a notable 16th-century contribution by Alonso de Covarrubias. A designated historic and artistic monument since 1931, the building had serious issues due to poor water drainage on its roofs and required work on its facades and in the east-wing interiors. Our restorers rehabilitated and consolidated the stone battlements and recomposed the crowning griffons with in-situ casting, using molds made in our workshop for the parts required.
