Asturias Hotel, Madrid, Spain

Restoration of the facades of the two buildings forming the former Hotel Asturias in the historic center of Madrid, with refurbishment of brickwork, badly damaged by continuous water seepage, restoration of plaster, especially on the recessed attics and towers, and recreation of original protrusions such as belt courses, casing trim, and balconies, as well as of damaged ornamental elements: decorative corbels, balustrades, and cornices, with molding of volumes in situ using running molds and reproduction of missing portions with casts taken from the originals. We also fully restored the balcony ironwork and decks, reproducing and refitting parts removed in previous renovations, and thereby returning the building to its original state and aesthetic.
