Bilbao Insurance, Madrid, Spain

For the insurance company Seguros Bilbao we restored the facades of this landmark building at Plaza de la Independencia 2, by Madrid’s Puerta de Alcalá and opposite the main entrance to the Retiro Park. We painstakingly cleaned and replaced over 14,000 rough and molded bricks as well as doing pointing and applying a water-repellent treatment to these facades’ large expanse of brickwork. We also meticulously restored ornamental elements and painted cornices, belt courses, framing trim, and protective ironwork, and weatherproofed balconies, decking them with Catalan tiles and fitting zinc flashing.
