Collegiate Church of Torrijos, Spain

This Collegiate Church of the Blessed Sacrament is one of the most significant churches of its kind in Castilla-La Mancha – an imposing Gothic edifice with Early Renaissance details. KALAM restored this early 16th-century church over three phases, starting in 1998 with cleaning, consolidation, and pointing of masonry on all of its facades. The next phase involved work on the bell tower and the structure and roof of its spire, followed by restoration of the Renaissance portal, with elements reused from the city of Medina Azahara and whose design is thought to include contributions by Alonso de Covarrubias.
