Medinaceli Hotel, Barcelona, Spain
Restoration of this stately 1852 building in Ciutat Vella as part of a comprehensive rehabilitation for use as a hotel. We restored its hot-iron stucco imitating various kinds of marble, with terracotta relief details and Montjuic natural stone in the framing trim, balcony decks, pillars and capitals on all wall surfaces, and in interiors. The surfaces were also stripped by various techniques suited to each substrate, and cleaned, consolidated, and blended chromatically.
