Hotel building in Montera 47, Madrid, Spain

Restoration of the facade of this building that houses various hotels in one of Madrid’s busiest areas, at the intersection of Gran Vía and the shopping street Calle Fuencarral. We applied traditional render with float-finished surfaces, bush-hammered textures, and bossage segmenting according to the building’s original format. We restored ornamental elements damaged in previous work, such as corbels, balustrades, and missing balusters, making casts in our restoration workshops and recomposing less damaged areas with structural stitching using bars and epoxy resin. We also painted joinery, ironwork, and ornaments. Finally zinc trim was fitted on belt courses and ornamental elements along with pigeon deterrents to facilitate facade maintenance. Worth noting is the tight deadline worked to, during the Christmas shopping rush.
