Intercontinental Hotel, Madrid, Spain

The architects Luis Martínez Feduchi and Luis Moya were commissioned to design Madrid’s first international hotel in 1950. On the foundations of the Aliaga Palace the architects erected an eight-story building around a courtyard garden. We performed conservation work on the facades, involving comprehensive pressure-water cleaning, spot repairs on all the cornices, replacement and consolidation of damaged brickwork, and repair of granite cladding. On the roof, the terrace parapets were restored by cleaning and subsequent weatherproofing.
