Monasterio de las Madres Carmelitas, Spain

This 17th-century convent, also known as Monastery of Saint Ignatius Martyr, has a Baroque church with its nave spanned by a barrel vault and its transept crowned by a dome, whose pendentives contain images of Saint John of the Cross, Saint Elias, and another Carmelite saint of notable historic value. We restored the roofs of the convent church, including those of the nave and sacristy on which the tiling and underlying wooden planking had to be fully dismantled and replaced with water-repellent boards and bituminous sheets under the old tiles, and the joins with the facade were weatherproofed with 2.5 mm of crimped lead.
