Paseo Castellana 140, Madrid, Spain

This building in the Paseo de la Castellana, known as Edificio Lima, was designed by the architect Fernando García Mercadal in 1954. In this building a complete restoration of the facades was carried out, the brick facades were repointed, waterproofed and repointed, and in the areas with greater detachment a fake stucco of rustic brick was applied. The limestone and granite facings, as well as jambs, lintels and flashings were sandblasted, cracks were sealed, volumes were reintegrated by in situ molding, and the pieces were replaced and anchored, depending on their condition. The patios were also restored and the roofs were waterproofed.
