Banco Santander, Seville, Spain

We carried out restoration work on the three façades of this historic building in the vicinity of Seville Cathedral, which is currently used for administrative purposes. The façades, made of natural sandstone with numerous ornamental motifs and facing brick in the upper areas, are deteriorated due to environmental factors and pollution. Among other lesions, they are affected by a patina of dulling, fissures and cracks, fractures, displacements, loss of cohesion of the stone and biological attack. The intervention will begin with the pre-consolidation of loose or unstable elements, to continue with the application of fungicide treatment, micro-projection appropriate to the decorative finish and resistance of the material, sealing of joints, cracks and fissures, replacement of volumes in stone elements, consolidating and waterproofing treatment to conclude with the maintenance of the deteriorated metal fittings and recovery of the lanterns.
