Basilica-Cathedral of Nuestra Señora del Pilar, Zaragoza, Spain
We intervened in the Cathedral-Basilica de Nuestra Señora del Pilar for the Zaragoza Metropolitan Chapter, who highlighted and valued KALAM’s experience in the restoration of its towers. The work has begun on the two towers located in front of the Plaza del Pilar – Santiago and Nuestra Señora del Pilar – and includes, among other things, the installation of zinc and lead protection on cornices, the improvement of interior accesses, the removal of disused elements, the revision of the sculptural elements on the façades and the installation of a system to prevent the intrusion of pigeons into the monument. All these actions, directed by the architect Javier Ibargüen, a specialist in heritage restoration, will contribute to improving the conservation of the towers.
