Royal Asturian Mining Company, Madrid, Spain
This magnificent building, former headquarters of the Royal Asturian Mining Company in Plaza de España, Madrid, is notable in that its roofs, sculptural ensembles, and other ornamental facade features, balustrades, dormers, corbels, moldings, etc., and also its interior decoration, with patinated ceilings and allegorical paintings, are of zinc, making the building unique in the world. Its beauty was restored by our company in a rehabilitation also involving work inside the building for protecting the interiors and rearranging them on an open plan for later uses, while maintaining the visibility of the metal structure, a fine example of 19th-century industrial architecture.
