Senate Palace, Madrid, Spain

The Senate Palace, originally built in 1558, was a school and convent before being converted to its current use in 1837. Our work involved a restoration of the north facade in which all the surfaces were fully stripped and the downspouts were uncovered and replaced. Prefabricated elements were restored with casts made in our specialist workshops or by stitching of parts, depending on their state. Traditional plaster was applied with various color samples until the original hue was achieved, and jutting elements were protected with zinc.
