The former Home of San Juan Bautista was built in 1868-74 as a charitable institution for destitute children. Following previous work in various phases between 1994 and 2002, it is being used now as a further education center. KALAM is currently carrying out a complete refurbishment to adapt it as a state-of-the-art urban university campus according to Universidad Europea standards. We are adapting the former children’s home interiors for classrooms, laboratories, an assembly hall, offices, a cafeteria, and a library, integrating new facilities and restoring spaces with heritage value. The work includes structural reinforcements, restoration of the timber structure, and complete retiling of the roof, reclaiming existing tiles and fitting insulation. An extension building is also to be built so as to increase the classroom capacity of this educational complex in the historic center of Valencia.
