Convocatorias abiertas a los Premios Hispania Nostra y Rafael Manzano

Open calls for the Hispania Nostra and Rafael Manzano Prizes

We are disseminating two calls for applications, which are currently open and close next April 2024.

The Hispania Nostra Awards for Best Practices 2024 have a deadline for entries of 12 April 2024 until 14:00. These awards are given to outstanding examples of good practice in the field of cultural and natural heritage projects carried out in Spain, in three categories. The first category highlights exemplary actions of intervention in the territory or landscape. The second rewards interventions or models of heritage conservation management as a factor of economic and social development. Finally, the third will award the prize in the category of signposting and dissemination of cultural and natural heritage.

Some distinctions, organized by Hispania Nostra and the Banco Santander Foundation, which disseminate and promote good practices in the conservation of cultural and natural heritage. The guidelines and information for submitting nominations are available on their web.

The Rafael Manzano Prize for New Traditional Architecture, is open to receive nominations that must be submitted before April 25, 2024. It is awarded to professionals working in Spain and Portugal on the basis of the contribution they have made in the field of architecture and urban planning while respecting their traditional principles, either in the restoration of monuments, public spaces and urban environments of artistic and historical value, or in the realization of new works or public spaces that, based on local traditions, are harmoniously integrated into these environments. The prize winner will receive 50,000 euros and a commemorative plaque.

The Rafael Manzano Prize for New Traditional Architecture is an initiative organized, thanks to Richard H. Driehaus, by the Traditional Constructive Cultures Foundation with the collaboration of INTBAU Spain and INTBAU Portugal, KALAM, the Fundação Serra Henriques, the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando and the Ordem dos Arquitetos, and has the High Patronage of His Excellency the President of the Republic of Portugal.

The rules and complete information about the prize should be consulted on its web.

We hope that the information on both prizes will be of interest to professionals in the field of heritage conservation, new traditional architecture and the preservation of traditional and local techniques and principles. And that these awards contribute to disseminate, promote and recognize good practices, professional careers and outstanding work in these areas.
